People following the emails mentioned below ( scroll down) I would like to welcome (2) reluctant readers of mikes comments namely the new so-called Independent Member for Indi Miss Cathy McGowan MP. OA and her offsider Cambell Klose and just in case they in a moment of petulance delete this without reading it and giving it due consideration from a concerned Aussie citizen you will notice I have sent a copy to the Editor of the Wangaratta Chronicle because I considered it only fair that even if the new federal Member for Indi was not interested in what I had to say the good Burghers of Indi might be????.
I watched a part interview on the ABC 21 last night - 10/11/13 - with Miss Cathy McGowan MP where she was asked about asylum seekers and her reply was;
Quote " We should pay attention to our international obligations! listen to our hearts! pay attention to our neighbours! unquote -
Me thinks Miss Cathy McGowan MP OA a so-called independent has been reading the federal Greenies hand book?? no mention in regard to what the Aussie population wants?? and how much stress this is adding to the already stretched Aussie tax payers?
No ofcourse not!! what would a well paid and new pollie that still has her training wheels on know about what the average Aussie wants before she takes it on herself to makes announcements of policy to the news media who are desperately hungry for any tit bit of negativity to beat the new Abbott government over the head with!!
It would appear that Miss Cathy McGowan MP OA is not familiar with the saying that:
" Negative News is stimulating and sends the media frothing at the mouth!! good news causes the media's eyes to glaze over and go back to sleep!!!
I believe that Cathy McGowan M P. OA is going to find that there is a vast difference between being an Agricultural Consultant,Farmer and associated with the likes of the Victorian Farmers Federation, Australian Women in Agriculture and a University Lecturer and a " Lame Duck media nuisance value! " federal Member of parliament where Miss Cathy McGowan MP OA only won the seat by 431 votes - hardly an overwhelming vote of voter confidence?? - and holds the seat by the slimmest of margins of 0.2%!! and to add too Miss Cathy McGowan's MP OA problems she won the seat from the current Liberal government!!
Good luck Miss Cathy McGowan MP OA in regard to receiving any federal funding for " Indi " over the rest of your tenure?? (3) years.
So speak up people and don't let the likes of Miss Cathy McGowan MP OA or her offsider Campbell Klose ignore you because it does not suit their particular - political or otherwise ? - prospective on life and/or their ideology!!
As the subject states the biggest killer to democracy is the lack of courage- - and I should also add " Political Correctness " - plus Political, Media and Public Apathy!!!!!!

Many thanks for your response but as one of the new kids on the block so to speak I should point out the following;
1. While you and Cathy McGowan and all those concerned have your hand in my pocket for your salaries, travel expenses, a very hansom superannuation scheme,over heads including your tax payer funded email address, fax, phone etc; you will continue to appear on my email list and as a consequence receive my emails and if you don't then I will take the matter up with the Speakers office.
2. I don't do this for just something to do!! I do this as I have now for decades as a concerned Aussie citizen and when Cathy McGowan MP sits in the house of reps and votes on various legislation she is doing so on behalf of every Aussie which believe it or not includes me and not just her constituents because if you and Cathy McGowan MP relied solely on the funds raised within your constituency I doubt you would raise enough to cover your electricity bill and maybe (6) months travel expenses to and from Canberra and you would probably both have to get a second job??
3. For your information Cathy McGowan MP is referred to as an independent because in theory she has not aligned herself to another party - major or otherwise - it does not mean she runs the independent state of " Indi " because the last time I looked Cathy McGowan MP swore an oath to serve the good citizens of Australia which again believe it or not includes me and my concerns!!
I suggest that if Cathy McGowan MP wishes to only represent the good citizens of " Indi " then Cathy McGowan should abstain from voting for anything that effects the good citizens of Aussie in general outside " Indi "which ofcourse again strange enough for you to comprehend includes me and the next time don't waste the hard earned Aussie tax payers funds let Miss Cathy McGowan MP OA just run for the local council and become Councilor Cathy McGowan?? even being a state pollie would have to wide a parameter!!
Welcome to the big boys and girls club Campbell Klose you left kindergarten the moment Miss Cathy McGowan MP OA took the oath now the real work starts ? maybe within a very short while you and Cathy McGowan MP will start to realise that the easy part was to criticise Sophie Mirabella filling her shoes will be a totally different ball game??
4. The oath that Cathy McGowan took stipulates that she is there to serve the Aussie population and not to my recollection was it for the Aussie population to serve her - or you for that matter!! so I suggest you do less telling Aussie citizens like me what I can or can't do and instead start listening to our/my concerns or I can see Cathy McGowan's tenure as a federal MP being a one term wonder??
