People over my 74 years I have seen/experienced some many World Famous high flying celebrities across
the human spectrum - athletics, various sports - boxing, cricket, football etc; entertainment - movie stars, singers, and especially politicians that find it very difficult to accept that they have had their time/day in
the sun and now ? and have gone from being a household name constantly in the media with paparazzi hanging around like a bad smell photographing their every move - attracting an audience wanting to touch them and get autographs and ofcourse like everything else that all diminishes with time and they are consigned to the history books.

However some celebrities cannot handle that rejection and go to great lengths even to commit suicide to
try and maintain that popular adoration ? or if your a pollie the influence ? power they once had ?

Frank Sinatra.
Take Frank Sinatra for instance who I was a great fan of but I believed it was a great shame
when he insisted on singing into his 70's where to me his voice was becoming what you
would expect a once great singers voice to become-pretty pathetic- and it was not because
he needed the money ! he died leaving an estate of 3 - 400 million dollars!

It was because he wanted to hear the applause and the adoration and yes he brought in 
the crowds in Las Vegas but from what I read the crowds were turning up to see a curiosity 
not 
a great singer and entertainer.

Malcolm Fraser who is famous for deposing Gough Whitlam the then Labor PM and who lost
his trousers in New York? was never very popular with the electorate because he talked like
he had a plum in his mouth like some English nobility and treated various people he thought
were just plebbs with some disdain and who tiered up to the point of nearly crying seated
before the cameras after he lost his last election in 1983 to the popular Bob Hawke.

However Malcolm Fraser is another one that can't leave things alone because he is constantly 
appearing on the ABC Radio -? where else ?- criticising the Aussie population for the way we
treat the so-called asylum seekers and telling our current and the previous Labor one how we 
should - or not - deal with the likes of China, Japan and the USA?

I believe he should just shut up and enjoy his enormous Tax Payer funded retirement and 
remember he is yesterdays man and even then he did not do a great job of PM as history
shows that's why he got booted out by the voters!

 
Ian Thorpe
I believe this is what has happened to Ian Thorpe but to a far greater extent because he
was much loved, admired and respected as a person and a great athlete and was mobbed
by fans- especially the females- wherever he went in Aussie and around the World!
I wont go into all his massive achievements from the age of (14) where he became the
youngest individual World Champion ever through to the Olympics, Summer Olympics,
World
Championships, World Aquatic Championships, Aussie Swimmer of the year from
1999 to 2003, Young Aussie of the Year in 2000 to when he retired due to illness & injury in
2006
only to try for a come back in 2011 but failed the 2012 Aussie Olympic trails and to me
it was like watching/listening to a younger version of an elderly Frank Sinatra viewing Ian
Thorpe being interviewed at pool side after his poor result at the 2012 Olympic trails.

Now watching Ian Thorpe on Channel (10) being interviewed by Sir Michael Parkinson
yesterday the 13/7/2014 where at the great old age of (32) he looked and sounded like
he has hit rock bottom and it was a great shame to see such a good bloke and a fine
athletic champion go so far down human chain?
However I believe that Ian Thorpe has achieved the come back he was looking for at the
2012 Olympic trails where he failed to qualify because by appearing as a well loved and
renown widely acclaimed and highly honoured World Class Athlete on a World Class and
renown show hosted by an also well loved, widely acclaimed and highly honoured Sir
Michael Parkinson Ian Thorpe is back on the podium being the centre of attention and
the accolades, recognition he has missed since retiring from international swimming
back in 2006- and who could blame him after having a fantastic career cut short due to
illness & injury when he was in the prime of his life-however I believe for all the wrong
reasons?
After all ( IS ?? ) he being congratulated and praised for the following:
1.The way he has handled the pressure and achieved so much in his short life and still
remain a good, God fearing part of a close family sort of bloke? NO!
2.The way he has reportedly handled his drug problem? NO!
3.The way he is coping with his reportedly depression? NO!
4.The way he is coping with his reportedly alcohol problem? NO!
5.The way he has handled his reportedly thoughts of suicide? NO!
6.The gentlemanly and fair way he has handled the romantic break ups with his many and
various female friends avoiding the media scandal that often happens when celebrities do
these sort of things - the media enjoy if not thrive on the juicy bits!! ? NO!
However I feel some sympathy for the females Ian Thorpe had sex with because now they
wont know if while he was having sex with them he was actually fantasising and wishing
they were blokes??
No! none of the above even though items 2 - 5 are killing Aussies virtually every day!!
No people all this latest media - main and social - frenzy - especially amongst the gay
lesbian lobby who must be wetting their collective knickers with excitement the poor
darlings - is that Ian Thorpe has declared what most of the worlds population that has
followed his career has thought may have been the case and that he is not " Straight "
his words not mine and I noticed it was well into the interview before he referred to
himself as a " Gay man " and I my view he seemed to avoid the word " Gay " like he was
not comfortable with using it??
This ofcourse is even though he has vehemently denied it over the years and even stated
so in his latest autobiography written some (2) years ago I gather headed " This is me in
2012
Ian Thorpe Own Autobiography " is there any wonder he delayed announcing his
coming out?? stating one untruth so close to the book launch could have cast some doubt
on any other statements Ian Thorpe made in the book and therefore effected the book
sales???
Anyway " Who Bloody Cares - other than other gay blokes?? What his sexual preferences
are?? what is so special about being gay when compared to any other sexual preference?
Just go on the porn sites there are a multitude of them!!
Maybe someone - based on now Ian Thorpe's notoriety? - can let him host a " Question &
Answer Show " like the International Gay Guru and Promoter of homosexual life Stephen
Fry who has QI which is run at least once every weekday night ? sometimes (2) on Prime
Time TV on where else? the gay/lesbian promotional arm - The ABC - that is when they are
not reporting/commentating ad nauseam on how badly we Aussies are treating the so-called
asylum seekers?? where Ian Thorpe can invite - as Stephen Fry does - his fellow gay/lesbian
mates to participate and they can all have a lovely jolly time??

   Anyone can declare themselves gay and/or lesbian because you don't need any
qualifications,
certificates, body shape! size! or weight! you don't have to have a limp wrist
hand shake,
a funny walk, be foppish and have an effeminate voice if your a bloke or
masculine traits if your
a female.
Just declare yourself either gay or lesbian - or even bi-sexual for the matter - go to a gay/
lesbian bar/ club/ hang out and announce to all and sundry that you wish to be either gay
or lesbian and I am sure you will be fighting the people gathered there off with a stick
wanting
you to be their virgin gay or lesbian. 
  Anyway you would only have to contact Andrew Barr the Deputy Chief Minister and
Treasurer
of the ACT Legislative Council who is a well known practicing homosexual and
a member of
" Rainbow Labor " that has put the following advert - scroll down to the
bottom - in the media
and on face book - I might add reading the readers comments in the
ACT local media it is causing a lot of controversial debate - in fact it is getting hammered -
in regard to heterosexuals not being invited?? plus who is paying for not only the advert
but the whole episode/love in?? hopefully not the ACT Rate/Tax Payers with the massive
deficits of millions
of dollars the ACT Legislative Council is running?

Something I thought was very disrespectful towards us red blooded hetro males was where a boof
head Channel (7) AFL commentator by the name of Brian Taylor called/labeled on air a Geelong
player by the name of Harry Taylor - not a gay I gather - quote " A big Poofter " unquote and the
Channel (7) plus the AFL want this commentator Brain Taylor to attend counseling and education
classes for his anti-homophobic?

Well people as far as I am concerned bugger - metaphorically speaking ofcourse – the homosexuals
/gays because to call a red blooded hetro bloke a quote " A Big Poofter "unquote - other than calling
him a Mother Fucker? or his Mum is a whore - is one of - if not the biggest insults you can call a red
blooded hetro male suggesting that he kisses and has sex with blokes which to the average hetro
bloke is not only abhorrent! distasteful! and repulsive but is definitely fighting talk and if there was
ever a saying that will get you a punch in the mouth and possibly hospitalised that's it!!!!

Don't believe me then try it? but I hope you can fight and have your health insurance fully paid up?
because the chances are win or lose your going to need it??

I don't feel sorry in anyway for Ian Thorpe good luck to him!! he is big enough, intelligent, educated
and good looking enough and possibly loaded with cash/funds to look after himself without my
advice.

However I believe people will unfortunately remember Ian Thorpe " As that famous gay swimmer "
and not for his swimming/ athletical achievements which in my view will be a great shame.

Ok people speak up and don't let this noisy in your face well organised minority gay/lesbian group
make life so difficult for us the majority Aussie hetro's with this political correctness being so much
in their favour that it chokes our long held freedom of speech?

However if your happy with that then cop it sweet and don't whinge when you find yourself in a law
court being accused of upsetting the sensibilities of this minority group for what we would consider
very minor at present??

The ACT Government is committed to Canberra as a socially and culturally inclusive community that celebrates its diversity and supports LGBTI Canberrans.
The Council provides an opportunity to discuss and provide advice to government on its policies, programs, services and processes. It will make recommendations to the ACT Government on current and emerging issues affecting LGBTI people.
Members will be selected for their expertise and experience in issues affecting the LGBTI community and their networks. Nominations are invited from both individuals and people representing organisations associated with LGBTI groups.
