" Unions - Their used by date ?? "

( Me at my place )
I am coming out loud and proud and declaring the following:
1. I am an Aussie white bloke of European descent.
2. I am heterosexual.
3. Although non religious I tend to believe in the so-called Christian values/beliefs.
Sir Mike's Comments 6/1/2016.

Subject: " Unions - Their used by date ?? "

People from my experience and a general reading of the subject Unions not only in Aussie but around the World are well and truly past
their - Used by Date - and with their dogmatic, arrogant, belligerent attitude have contributed far more to the unemployment figures and the long term aftermath and subsequent poverty than ever the " Global Financial Crisis " could ever do.

A NSW Federal Labor Senator Doug Cameron and a Union heavy weight.

Annabel Crabb - ABC's Kitchen Cabinet Show.

Cameron stated during a lunchtime interview at his home in the NSW Blue Mountains with Annabel Crabb on the ABC's Kitchen Cabinet
Show words to the effect that Unions had not to be just an industrial organisation but a political one as well or it would
not work.

This I believe sums up the once Union and the Labor Parties relationship, however because of the weak, dysfunctional current and past Labor Party Leadership, say at least the last 10 years or so, the Union movement has had to take over the Labor Party to such an extent the Union Movement " IS " the Labor Party hence the reason a bloke like Teflon Billy Shorten, a very heavy weight from the Union movement, and an alleged rapist?? with an all time low of voter satisfaction of only 14 per cent can hang on as the Federal Labor Opposition Leader!

Teflon Billy Shorten the Aussie Federal Labor Opposition Leader - with a 14 per cent voter satisfaction and alleged rapist.

With the demise of the Aussie Car Manufacturing Industry over the next couple of years plus computerisation, automation, out
sourcing to non-Union labour companies and the like Teflon Billy Shortens Union movement would only at the most represent about 1.8 to 2 million, say 20 per cent of an estimated - and declining fast with 800,000 plus recognised as being unemployed - 10 million Aussie work force which is about 60 - 65 per cent full time and about 30 - 35 per cent partime with about 46 per cent of the Public Sector are Union members as compared to only 14 per cent of the Private Sector therefore you would not have to be Einstein to come to the conclusion where the loyalty of Teflon Billy and his Union organisation mates lay and who they really represent and that must be the Labor Parties piggy bank and the Union Members that bank roll the Labor Party.

Obviously Unions until say the last decade or so where essential, crucial in fact,in establishing a fair wage and conditions for the average Aussie worker, and the same for employees around the World in Western type societies, then I know from experience the Union demands became prolific and beyond the capacity of most of the companies involved, including mine, to viably financially sustain a profitable situation in the long run?

However most companies including mine, had a gun to our head with the threat that unless we agreed the staff and employees would
would stop work and as was the term " Out on the grass " indefinitely we had little choice but in the short term to agree to their
unreasonable, unfinancial and from the companies point of view uncompetitive - because we could not in a very competitive market reasonably pass these cost onto our clients who themselves were in most cases under financial and market stress.

Therefore in order to remain viable but at the same time be careful not to lower our service standards to our clients we had to review our systems and procedures which however turned out to be a positive all round but ofcourse it did mean laying off - making redundant
-
a number of employees, all who were Union members including the shop steward plus a trouble maker and all were paid out according to the agreement set out between the various Unions and ourselves.

There would be no prizes for guessing that when the redundant employees complained to their various Unions the Union Organisor that coursed the problem in the first place was no where to be found?? gone on long service I believe was the reason given??

I am now going to try and demonstrate with the following how with the various market competitiveness and the huge cost of human labour
largely brought about by various Union organisations trying to make themselves relevant it has become in the long term far more cost effective to invest huge sums of capital - millions if not billions long term - in computerisation, robotic automation outsourcing including both foreign and domestic contracting," Just in time stock rotation " and the like sooner than employ the now to costly and less productive humans!!

Senator Kim Carr - The former Labor Minister for Innovation.Industry,Science and Research. a more rude, arrogant, belligerent objectionable bloke you could ever come across!! don't believe me? listen to this bastard at the Senate Question Time, disgraceful loud mouth!!

Kim Carr was the Minister, along with his Labor mob, responsible- among many others - for propping up the loss making Aussie Car Industry with millions, long term billions, of hard earned Aussie Tax Payer funds until the Abbott mob said " Enough is Enough " and stopped propping
up them and the like's of Ford and Toyota who like Holden are ceasing car manufacturing in Aussie, but still selling importing vehicles here and even with import duties and taxes can in most cases be bought cheaper than the Aussie made one's?

However this ofcourse means a loss of Union membership plus a loss of $100's of $1000 of lost Union Membership funds that contribute to Labors piggy bank therefore is it any wonder that a Labor Government was prepared to subsidise the Unionised Car Industry with vital and yet
very scarce Aussie Tax Payers funds??

I should like to try and demonstrate now with the following just how the once powerful Aussie Union body has and is becoming less relevant as the years and decades roll on.

Aussie Car Industry - After 65 years Holden to cease production by the end of 2017 putting 2900 employees out of work
Ford to cease production by October 2016 putting at least 1200 employees out of work.
Toyota to cease production by the end of 2017 putting at least 2500 employees out of work.

All these manufacturers had very strong Unionised labour and all sighted that with the very high Aussie manufacturing costs, the high Aussie
dollar and now the millions, billions over time, of Tax Payers funds as subsidies to prop up an unprofitable, stand alone car industry being with drawn by 2020 it was no longer viable to produce vehicles in Aussie.

Yet Holden are going to build their cars in Germany and ship them
here some 15,000 klms away, pay the shipping, Aussie duty, Wharf and inland transport costs etc; and remain competitive?? you figure.

Maybe this will help:

My blog dated the 13/12/2014 Subject " I want a job at Holden " which shows what ridiculous Aussie wages and conditions in Holden are and I doubt as the same Unions cover all three car manufacturers - Holden, Ford and Toyota they would be different in Ford or Toyota.

I can quite see why the likes of Holden are going to Germany to have their vehicles manufactured when you view the following YouTube video
of an automated production of the BMW F30 3 series where a minimal amount of humans who are required to only do menial tasks and operate the computerised automated production line and therefore it would appear to me that the like's of BMW found it far more cheaper and more efficient to fund to the tune of millions ? if not billions, long term in computerised automation than it was to continue with human labour to do the same tasks?

My blog dated the 19/4/2014 Subject:" If this factory closes, there will not be many job loses "

The fact that if an Aussie works for one hour a week they are classed as employed I believe makes a mockery of the Aussie unemployment figures of 5 and 6 per cent and some 800,000 being unemployed therefore I recommend reading the following:

My blog dated the 11/2/2015 Subject: " No bullshit !! the real Aussie Employment Figures " an article written by Tim Colebach dated the 22/12015 headed -" Australia today - A million new adults, just 385,000 new jobs " where I believe it shows a reality check and any reasonable person would be forgiven for asking ? what role did the Aussie Union movement play in the massive demise of Aussies jobs?

Prior to last 2013 Federal Election and during the Labor Party and Greenie financial reign of terror the Australian Securities & Investment Commission reported that for the 12 months prior to the 1/3/2013 there were 10,632 company collapses averaging about 886 per month and that insolvencies had hit a record high being more than 12 per cent higher than during the Global Financial Crisis with manufacturing and construction
accounting for about one fifth of the collapses.

Now the high Australian Dollar was the main factor behind the manufacturing closures with the dreaded " Carbon Tax " as a contributor which was adding to the ever increasing cost burden for firms struggling to stay afloat.

Now I gather the bulk of these businesses were small to medium size business which I doubt that the many 1000's of employees that lost their jobs would have been Unionised therefore maybe that is why the Labor Senators Kim Carr and Doug Cameron were not bellowing and howling in the Senate for Tax Payers financial subsidise to be given to them like they wanted for their Union mates and financial backers in the Car Industry?

The mighty warfies - MUA - Maritime Union of Australia - have had their membership decimated over the years and their working conditions reduced
as a result of computerisation, containerisation and in the future automation where the transtainers and container moving equipment can be controlled remotely.

The same applies to the mining industry where those huge 110 tonne capacity dump trucks are starting to be controlled robotically from a central point.

It would appear that the famous or infamous Belan family - depends on your point of view mine's the latter - who now work for the The National Union of Workers Union formally the Storeman and Packers have come under question in the Heydon Royal Commission into Trade Unions.

They had a Father by the name of Frank Belan would died in 2001 who was a Storeman and Packer Organisor when I clashed with the bastard
and I mean a bastard of the highest order who later became the Secretary of the National Union of Workers and who it would appear has handed down his dynasty to his family who are now being accused I gather of helping themselves to their members funds?

Frank Belan was a bully and a stand over merchant of the first order as I found most Union Organisors are, or were, and did not believe in negotiating it was his way or stop work and out on "The Grass Indefinitely" therefore is it any wonder that 10's of 1000's of storeman and so-called "Blue Collar Workers" have
been replaced by computerised automation and product picking, palletising, containerisation and documentation, "Just in time stock control "and the list goes on.

The Labor Party even gave this bastard Frank Belan an OAM - Order of Australia Medal - and in my view totally devalued the Australian Honour!

People I could go on until this email and consequently my blog is as long as the average Aussie toilet roll where local, state and federal governments
plus businesses and organisations have decided to invest in capital equipment and infrastructure and reduce their human work force or at least " Out Sourcing " the work or activity to non-union entities?

In NSW we are soon to have " Driverless Trains " and ofcourse we now have the " Opal Tap and Go Card " doing away with paper tickets which
will, or can be,automatically topped up as you use them from your bank or credit, debit accounts, automated train arrival announcements and automated track laying equipment - ? an all Unionised railway work force?

Transport workers - TWU - larger carrying capacity vehicles, palletisation, containerisation, computerised operational control of drivers? again less
vehicles, drivers, no-offside's and inside staff and using non-union subcontractors.

Housing and construction - out sourcing to non-union subcontractors and even then using labour saving material, devices. machinery and equipment.

Banks - Internet banking.

Manufacturing - Robotic automation, computerisation.

Medicine- Robotic surgery, computer medical patient analysis, record keeping on a National basis, the internet analysis - even though I am aware the
Doctors, especially the GP's get very annoyed if a patient mentions it.

Retail - bar coding and now " Self checkout systems " all linked to a " Just in time " stock control systems.

Telstra, Optus and the like out sourcing to,possibly redundant ex employees, the construction, repairs, maintenance and paying bills,
sales,enquiries,
complaints over the internet.

Police and law and order including our Courts - Computerisation less clerical work, no rego stickers with in car computer rego recognition and citizens personal
details and information on or at the first point of contact saves time ? less clerical and even less police officers in the future.

Therefore people what I have mentioned above and what I have no doubt will happen in the future is just the " Tip of the Iceberg " as the saying
goes, and has been brought about mainly by unreasonable, uncooperative, belligerent across the spectrum Union Industrial Muscle in order to appease the masses with short term fixes and at the same time put pressure on our short term thinking, self interested, amateur pollies across all 3 levels of this over governed country of ours to toe the line set by the once powerful Union Movement or risk a Union backlash or campaign to unseat them at the next election.

However people this is just what the so-called top end of town has planned for decades if not more? and we - the plebbs - have been led by the
naive nose to dig the hole we now find ourselves in and quite frankly as an experienced retired business person I for the life of me cannot see us crawling out of this hole ? it is almost like both the Union Movement and the short shelf life, self interested pollies were or are in collusion, secret cooperation with the top end of town it has gone, come together so seamlessly?? incredibly breathtaking with the speed and efficiency with which it has been accepted by the naive so-called intelligent plebbs who are continuously getting the rough end of the pineapple while the top end of town keep us occupied with very effective distractions like the wonders of the internet, facebook, twitter, grog, drugs and rock and roll??

Now ofcourse we have this noisy confused hullabaloo generated by ofcourse the Unions, Pollies and the media in general over penalty rates
and if what I have stated above, which as I have also stated is just the tip of the iceberg, is not enough to prove that the person signing the cheque - example - driverless trains etc; has the last say then nothing will !! and as a 100 per cent of nothing is still nothing and if you want to stay unemployed then ok but don't expect the hard done by over financial stretched tax payer to continually pick up the tab for your welfare payments.

Ok people start taking an interest in this once great country of ours even if not for yourself but for the future of your kids and their kids otherwise
don't whinge when the top end of town even confiscates, commandeers your " Pineapple "!!

Sir Mike Howe - but you can call me Mike.

This bloke below is a NSW Aussie Federal Senator by the name of Doug Cameron who I have had the miss fortune of meeting in a previous life
on a couple of occasions and who obtained his very lucrative Tax Payer funded $200,000.oo PA remuneration plus perks of office by being an even greater Union heavy weight than Teflon Billy Shorten and as such got into the Senate not by facing the personal scrutiny of the Aussie voters but as Cameron states in the article I downloaded from Face Book it was his Union activities via the Labor Party - which as I have stated previously controls the Labor Party anyway - and therefore I believe it would be acceptable for any reasonable person to assume that every time Cameron raises his hand to vote in the Senate where his first and foremost loyalties would be and surely it must be with the Union movement?? and whether or not that is to the detriment of his other Aussie Tax Paying employers in general, plus the non-Unionised voting citizens only time will tell??

Taken from FaceBook - 3/1/2015

The biased and political report by the Coalition's hired gun, Dyson Heydon, is designed to weaken
the union movement and provide the basis for cuts to wages and conditions.
As a rank-and-file activist and a full-time union official for much of my working life, I have always fought against the misuse of power, criminal conduct, bullying and intimidation.

There is no place for this in the trade union movement or in business.
To portray the whole trade union movement the way Heydon has done is abhorrent and inaccurate. Individuals who have broken the law should be dealt with, but to insinuate that the tens of thousands of union activists, delegates, and officials who make up the trade union movement are corrupt bullies, is contemptible.
If the government wants to use the Heydon report as a basis for an election campaign on industrial relations, so be it. The Labor Party and the union movement will be ready to fight for independent unions and decent rights and conditions for Australian workers.
